The Oving Cow Shed is officially opened by competition winner, Amelia Thomasin-Foster

Amelia, whose entry won our competition to see our milk vending machine named Milly Moo, officially cut the ribbon on the Oving Cow Shed. As well as seeing her suggestion chosen as the name of the machine, Amelia, who is a pupil at nearby Aldingbourne Primary school, also won a farm trip for her class, and a deliciously fantastic months supply of milk.

Cutting the ribbon and unveiling Milly Moo with Woodhorn Farm owner, John Pitts, Managing Director, Cameron Lewis, and Commercial Director, Mike Jupp; Amelia told us that the inspiration for Mill Moo is because Milly is her nick name, and she loves drinking milk.  Whilst she’s chuffed to see her name on the machine and to win the milk, she’s also excited about the farm trip because she wants to be a farm vet when she is older and she loves cows.

John Pitts, Owner of Woodhorn Farm, said: “This has been a really exciting project for us, and we’re delighted to be able to offer our delicious organic milk direct to local residents and those visiting the area. All of our milk is pasteurised within a few hours before being transferred to The Oving Cow Shed for people to fill a bottle with, take home and enjoy. We hope everyone will love it as much as Amelia!

The official launch also coincided with the arrival of a range of Organic Herd products in our vending machines. Organic Herd is the dairy co-operative that we’re part of and where the bulk of our organic milk goes each day. We’re proud to be part of Organic Herd because how we farm matters, and so to be able to stock their products in the vending machines completes the circle of sustainability for us.

So, as well as now being able to get fresh whole organic milk, milkshakes and fresh coffee at the Oving Cow shed, you can also buy Organic Herd cheeses and butter.
